This chic boutique hotel boasts an appearance reminiscent of a grand European estate, featuring a welcoming entrance, a cozy bar corner, and a sophisticated restaurant. It’s said to offer dog-friendly rooms, catering to the local community.
On this particular day, I brought a close friend, someone I cherish both in work and personal life, to this restaurant for lunch. The impeccable service from the stylish staff and the overall sense of unity in terms of interior, ambiance, and the people working there create a relaxing and comfortable atmosphere. The spacious terrace seating is perfect for spending time with your dog. It’s a precious space where you can enjoy high-quality cuisine in the company of your four-legged friend.

The stately brick building, formerly the Kamakura Pressure Pumping Station, has been transformed into a charming space. When you open the door, you’ll be greeted by a large hall-like area that’s truly awe-inspiring.
Here, you can savor dishes made with an abundance of herbs harvested from the garden on the premises and enjoy a variety of alcoholic beverages unique to a sake brewery: beer, sake, gin, and more. It’s a moment for adults to relish.
The sounds reverberating in the hall are reminiscent of a theater, creating a dramatic atmosphere. It’s a must-visit attraction in Kamakura.
Furthermore, at the terrace seating, you can enjoy your meal in the company of your dog!

Raitei
Kamakurayama/Kamakura
This vast property utilizes a residential villa area which was developed during the early Showa period. The main building has been reconstructed from the former residence of a prominent farmer from the Edo period.
Reservations are required for the kaiseki cuisine served on the second floor of the main building, while on the first floor, you can casually enjoy soba noodles.
One of the pleasures here is strolling through the grounds. Within the 50,000 square meters of the property, you’ll find plum groves, bamboo forests, seasonal botanical gardens, stone sculptures, and buildings imitating Japanese temples and shrines. It feels like a Japanese-style wonderland from days gone by.
On this day, a group of middle-aged men arrived in a large bus, and they seemed to be having a great time.
