The sounds reverberating in the hall are reminiscent of a theater, creating a dramatic atmosphere. It’s a must-visit attraction in Kamakura.

Raitei

Kamakurayama/Kamakura

This vast property utilizes a residential villa area which was developed during the early Showa period. The main building has been reconstructed from the former residence of a prominent farmer from the Edo period.

Reservations are required for the kaiseki cuisine served on the second floor of the main building, while on the first floor, you can casually enjoy soba noodles.

One of the pleasures here is strolling through the grounds. Within the 50,000 square meters of the property, you’ll find plum groves, bamboo forests, seasonal botanical gardens, stone sculptures, and buildings imitating Japanese temples and shrines. It feels like a Japanese-style wonderland from days gone by.

On this day, a group of middle-aged men arrived in a large bus, and they seemed to be having a great time.

Sesame tofu and rolled omelet. The fish stock is delicious.
The upper one is the seasonal limited Sudachi Soba. The lower one, Tenseiro, is 1,900 yen.
Enjoy a pleasant stroll in good weather. You can even catch a distant view of Mount Fuji.

Adjacent to Raitei, which takes advantage of this topography, you’ll find “Le Milieu,” a place where you can enjoy Western-style pastries and meals. The interior that includes a chic select shop is refined, almost like a hotel, and you can savor delicious cakes.

The afternoon tea, which includes baguette sandwiches, costs 4,968 yen for two people, and it’s quite filling. It’s reasonably priced, considering it includes two drinks, and it’s quite popular.
